“Untitled” Poem [Poetry]

Be as the flower
that claims no identity:
it is the sky that begot it,
it is the wind that blows upon it,
it is the sun that shines,
it is the bee that feeds,
it is the aphides that bide,
it is soil that enlivens,
and it is you, that revels upon it;
it is love on a corsage,
it is life in a room,
it is remembrance in Winter,
and yet, it is not aught what we define it.

For, to a flower, what is a flower?”

Film Studies Quarterly Review [Blog]

“Where we dissect sight and sound.”

Film Studies is a bi-monthly comprehensive study on underrated, sometimes obscure, pre-1980s classic films.

Film Studies Quarterly is a bi-monthly comprehensive study on underrated, sometimes obscure, pre-1980s classic films. Film studies began as TalkFilms, an ambitious attempt to scramble in-depth, coherent analysis every Tuesday. Then, we wanted to bring a detailed analysis of a film, akin to a 401 college course. This is still our hope with Film Studies. We will go into the dirt with every film, analyzing sound and soundtrack, cinematography, editing, production history, and everything in-between. We will take the film apart like a watchmaker does a watch, and at the end of the study, we will be able to put the watch together by ourselves.

Outside My Garret Window – Selected Poems [Book]

“Outside My Garret Window is a collection of poetry fashioned from a particularly old soul. ” – Indie Today, R.C Gibson.

What is “Outside My Garret Window” about?

Will the Garret Poet become what he desires most?

The Garret Poet dreams of being a bard. He dreams of flying and singing like a nightingale – like any bird for that matter. However, his work holds him tight to his narrow room, where he watches the world he labors to be part of pass by his window.

He loves. He yearns. He gives, and he takes life. He reads, he writes, he cries, and he broods over that which causes him existential strife. He does this in his garret room, offering all for the sake of poetry, to set himself free from his anticipations and doubts. And finally, to rightly pay his respects to the nightingales that sang before him with his fitful poesies.

Rain In The Streets

The intricate sounds of Orozco’s Guitarra and
the beep, beep, from passing automobiles fill
the warm air, and rise towards the burdened sky as
Rain materializes from thick grey nimbus clouds,
and falls onto the City; yet, the mood is not somber.
It is Sabbath.

The mid-April air smells of wet dog, and filth,
the smell of the City’s deep cleanse from morning showers.
